Create A Card Die Tutorial!

Hi!! I created this bright and fun card quickly and easily! And... I'm going to share with you how I did it! :) I used the brand new Birthday Flower Create A Card Die by Die'Sire.

Below, you can see the die. I die cut a piece of premium white cardstock using my die cutting machine.

Then, I flipped it over BEFORE taking the paper out of the die and placed it on a scrap piece of paper (to protect my surface).  I added some Peacock Feathers Distress ink to the top of the die, making sure it got onto the paper.

Then, I just pulled the paper out of the die and wiped off the die with a paper towel.  Doesn't it look pretty?!

Next I die cut some flowers from the Die'Sire 3D Delicate Flower Die.

I used Distress Inks with the dauber again to 'color' them in.  I used Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, and Ripe Persimmon.

I die cut the flower twice so I could create that 3D effect using foam adhesive.

For the background panel, I pulled out the Distress Inks again.  I wanted to make sure everything coordinated! I created a nice ombre effect, using Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, and Ripe Persimmon.

This was quick to create and I love the final piece! It looks like it took me hours to create, but in reality, it was under 20 minutes.  This die is going to be used in my collection over and over and over again!

Thanks for stopping by today!

  1. THANK YOU! I just bought this die and was googling how to accent the peek-thrus. CC needs LOTS more samples with explanations, including how to get the dies to cut cleanly. I had to use my exacto to get the middle bottom cut out. Grrrrrr! xoxo
