Nordic Christmas Release!

The brand new Nordic Christmas Line just came out a few days ago and I'd like to share with you how to create a simple window opening for your cards and other creations! As long as you have stackable dies, like the Die'Sire Essential Dies: Rectangles collection, it is incredibly easy to do. I was inspired by this post by talented DT Member, Wendy.

I started out by coloring an image from the Nordic Christmas EZ Mount Stamp set called Santa's Delivery. Even though it's a holiday card, I really wanted to go with non traditional colors.  To create the soft, blended look, I used the paper stumps along with the Blending Solution on Premium Cardstock.

I used my Spectrum Noir Blendable Colored pencils:
Trees: 049, 065, 094
Houses: 063, 081, 035, 062, 113, 082

Then I printed out some patterned paper from the Destinations Papercrafting Twin CD Rom that matched. I cut it to 5.5 x 4.25 (standard A2 sized panel) I placed the largest rectangle from the Die'Sire Rectangles Metal dies collection on the panel and secured it down with some respositionable tape.

I ran it through my die cutting machine and then used the large rectangle again, but also placed the next smaller sized one onto purple cardstock.  This will be the window! I ran it through my die cutting machine and then carefully pulled off the tape.

I placed the patterned paper over the colored image and adhered it down with my permanent tape runner.  I love this runner because it's really strong.  It's perfect for cardmaking, so nothing falls apart!

Then I added the window.  I just added the adhesive to the back.  It fits perfectly in that window I cut!

To finish everything off, I die cut one of the sentiments from the same set, using the Die'Sire Essential Dies: Scalloped Rectangles.  I inked up the edges a little bit and adhered it with foam squares to give it some dimension.

Even though the card was pretty much complete, I felt like it needed something else.  I really wanted some sparkle on the snow areas, so I used some Frosted Lace Stickles Glitter Glue!
