I'm thrilled to be Guesting for a Blog Named Hero this month! Today I have a fun card that I created - I hope it will show you how to get more out of your stamps and basic supplies you have on hand!
I decided to stamp directly onto buttons. Not all inks work really well - Staz On probably works the best. But if you don't have any Staz On, you can even stamp with Hero Arts Chalk Ink! I just recommend either using a heat gun to dry it or to gently brush over it with a sealer. I have a Ranger sealer that I use and it works pretty well. Here is a quick shot of the supplies I grabbed before I started my card:
Even though I ended up not using the black Staz On or the red buttons, I did stamp on them anyway and I'm keeping them for a future project!
So, when you're ready, just ink up you stamp and go! Don't be afraid to stamp onto those buttons, even though they aren't really flat surfaces. I think the imperfections make them more fun.
I love stamping on buttons because then I feel like I can leave them as-is and I don't have to thread through any twine! :-)
See how they aren't perfectly perfect? I think that's perfectly OK! It gives them more character, right????
To actually create the card (and not just the fun, custom embellishments), I die cut two clouds and stamped on them, using the Stamp & Cut set (DI024). I adhered them both with pop dots, making sure the cloud on the top layer had a double set of pop dots so it laid on the card base correctly.
I used the sentiment and sun from a fun, summer set (CL439) and I added some fun chevron washi tape to the card, too! I also added some light tea-colored ink to the edges and to the sun, just to take away some of the white on the card - it was sooo much white, it was actually taking away from the rest of the fun things on the card!
