CAS-ual Fridays Challenge

Hi!
Today I have a card that I created for the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #36!

CFC36: Create a Clean And Simple Project that is only black and white.
*no other colors will be allowed-not even a speck*

This one was a challenge for me, for sure! I had a hard time not using any other colors at all, but I loved the result I achieved!

I diecut the circle in the white and then stamped and embossed the image underneath.  Then, I stamped on the banners I die cut and added them onto the white base and adhered everything with some pop dots for dimension.

My friend has a birthday this Friday, so I created this with her in mind.  We both love to read, so this is really the perfect card for her!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge!

Hi!
Tonight I have a fun card I created for the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge! I thought this sketch was too fun, so I couldn't pass it up!

I turned it on its side and changed it up a tad.  I created this card for a friend of my mom.  Her birthday is coming up soon and I wanted to do something fun, simple and cheery for her!

I used Lawn Fawn images (2 different sets, but they coordinate pretty well!) and a sentiment from SP & Company's Bold Sentiments I.  I colored in the bike with Copics and paper pieced the ballooons.

Thanks for stopping by today! Make sure to check out the rest of the entries for the CAS-ual Friday challenge these week - they are amazing!!!

Stamps: Lawn Fawn, SP & Company
Cardstock: 65# Cougar Cover, Basic Grey

Super Cool Shapes

Today I have a card that is shaped! I was inspired by this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge blog to give this a try! I always see shaped cards I love and I never have the guts to try them, so this week I forced myself to step out of the box! I also knew I could use a really cute SP and Company sentiment from Bold Sentiments I (available NOW!!!) and it would work perfectly.

So, I broke out the Cricut (I had to dust it off first - it's been a while), took about an hour trying to decide what shape to use (decisions decisions!), cut it out and got started!

I also cut a cute little tag and inked it up before using the "Missing You" sentiment.  This card is so perfect for my BFF, who I almost never see since she lives about an hour away from me.  I cut my own leaf out and inked the edges of it, then tucked it behind the little tag.  With a MS butterfly punch, I punched out the butterly several times and adhered them together, separating the wings to give it more dimension.  Lastly, I colored in a Hero Arts flower with a Copic that matched the circle I punched and stamped for the center of the flower.

I also added a little faux stitching around the edges to give it a little pop.  Now that I've taken the plunge into shaped cards, I think I'm going to be making a lot more!

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

A CAS-ual Card!

Hi,
Today I have a quick little post.  I created this card for the CAS-ual Friday Challenge this week! The challenge was to use buttons and twine.  Puh-leese.  When DON'T I use buttons or twine, right????  :-)

I stamped the flower onto some Bazzill and heat embossed it.  Then I used some Copics to shade.  I really like the way the red Copic looks on the white embossed areas.

And my buttons and twine are above.....

I really like the combo of red, black and white and I almost never ever use it (so very Mickey Mouse, no?!).  I loved the striped background, but it was too much, so I added some vellum in front of it to tone it down.  I also heat embossed the sentiment on the vellum.  It just gave that extra dimension that made it work!

Thanks for stopping by and make sure to check out the CAS-ual Friday Blog! Fun stuff and great inspiration there!!!
