Lawnscaping Challenge #132: Distress Maniacs

Welcome to another Lawnscaping Challenge! This time, we are getting "distressed!"

We are sponsored by the always amazing Lawn Fawn! Thank you Kelly Marie and gang for sponsoring us!

For my card, I used multiple Distress Inks (Broken China, Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade and Shabby Shutters) along with the Mermaid For You set.

I flicked some water onto the inks after blending them to get the splattered look!

I hope you will play along with us!

SUPPLIES:

Create Your Own Custom Coaster!

Hi! I wanted to share some coasters I created recently using some Crafter's Companion supplies!

I love my Spectrum Aquas, so I stamped them onto watercolor stock and used the no-line watercolor technique.  This is quite easy to do - just stamp with a light color ink or a light Distress Ink and the lines will be hidden under the watercoloring!

I used the same main image for all four coasters, but I painted/colored them in differently, using the same color scheme. I used the cute teacups from the Spectrum Noir Sparkle EZ Mount Stamp Set Tea Time Treats.  The Spectrum Aqua colors used were Aquamarine, Chocolate, Burgundy, Sunflower, and Gold.

I mentioned earlier about no line watercoloring.  For this process, I used Antique Linen Distress Ink. This color is very light and since Distress Inks react with water, the lines pretty much disappeared as I added in the Spectrum Aquas and water.

And how about those coffee stains? Love them! I inked up the Stamp It Australia Ornate Accessories EZ Mount stamp set with some Distress Ink Vintage Photo.  Then, I stamped it onto a scrap piece of paper before stamping onto my piece.  I wanted the color toned down a bit and not super dark.

I finished off the design with some Fireworks Summer Sky splatters.  Then, I adhered them to the coaster and coated them with Mod Podge to seal and protect the colored images.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Lawnscaping Challenge #116: Too Cute To Spook!!!!

Hi! Welcome back to another Lawnscaping Challenge; my favorite part of Mondays! This time around, we are making creations that are just too cute to spook!

We are sponsored by the always amazing Lawn Fawn! Those folks just rock and they are sponsoring this challenge with a free stamp set of the winner's choice!

For my card, I used the adorable Critters in Costume set. I stamped the image in a light Distress Ink, then used my Spectrum Aquas to color it in.  I wrapped the sentiment on a text block and heat embossed it with clear powder so it wouldn't bleed.

This challenge is so fun - break out those Critter and Halloween stamps and play along with us to win!!!

SUPPLIES:

Stamps: Lawn Fawn
