Papertrey Ink January Blog Hop

I'm particpating in the PTI Blog Hop today! The challenge:

New Year's Resolution

With the new year comes a clean slate along with many resolutions. This month's blog hop challenge involves you challenging yourself to use a Papertrey stamp set that has yet to see ink or even one that might be collecting a little dust! Go through your stash and see what little used treasure it might hold.

So, today I have a quick little card for you.  I used the cupcake from Baby Button Bits since I've never used that one before.  This is a set that I often look at, but almost never use and I just don't know why.  There are so many cute elements!!!

Here's the card:

I did some paper piecing for the cupcake and I also used stamps from Little Bitty Bird and Mixed Messages.  I stamped the bottom elements with VersaInk green and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder.  For the cupcake, I used some Copics to give a little shading on the base and on the leaves.  The button is tied with a smidge of Baker's Twine.  I don't normally do rectangular cards OR use black as the base, so these were two new things for me.  I know the photograph isn't great - I didn't have any natural light since I did this one at night.  Photoshop can only take me so far!!!!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the Hop!!!!
