All you need is tissue paper, double-sided tape, scissors, ink and stamps. The two sizes of double-sided tape I have are 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch. Now, keep in mind, if you are not using re-usable tape, this will not have the normal properties of washi. Once you stick it down, it's done. I've also heard that Scotch makes a re-usable double sided tape that is supposed to work very well for this, too (just something to keep in mind).
Cut the tape to the size you want and place it on the tissue paper, then cut around it, leaving some extra room for stamping.
Stamp onto the front (non-tape side). I chose to stamp the steam from the My Cup of Tea set. I also took some lighter blue and rubbed it onto the paper to give the tape a blue tint.
After you are done stamping, just cut to the tape and peel away (ignore my dry fingers - my eczema is making me craaaa-zzzzyyyy this winter). The Scor Tape tears away like washi does (the red tape is very heavy duty and does not, so I had to trim it with scissors).
Now you're ready to place it on your project. Just remember, it's permanent, but it still gives that look of washi tape!
I personally also like it when the tissue paper is slightly wrinkled. I think it makes the pattern more interesting.
