CS Designs Alphabet Challenge!

Happy Monday!
Today I'm posting my project I made for the CS Designs Alphabet Challenge.  You can find the specifics and other projects in the CS Designs Group on Simply Scrapping Crafts and Papercraft Planet.

I chose to use the "Altered Item" option for the Letter "A."  I wanted to make another Post It Note Holder.  They are just too fun to not keep making.

I just ADORE this digi image.  It is available HERE.  She reminds me so much of my daughter, getting into my scrapping stuff and ripping papers, stealing punches and playing with ribbon!

I adhered velcro to keep the holder closed.  I stitched across some hearts I punched out and inked up.  I also added some stickles to all of the red on the image of Priscilla.

A Cup Fit for a Princess!

Today I have a fun little project to share with you! I made a sweet little cup for the CS Designs Shape Challenge on Simply Scrapping Crafts.  I modified the sizes a bit to conform to the challenge rules, but the directions are available on the Scor Pal website HERE.

This one is Easy Peasy anything goes but there is one requirement.

You must have at least one half circle in your creation

and the circle must be at least 1.5" You don't have to stop at one,

you can use as many as you wish, but no full circles.

Can you find my half circle???

I was sneaky! My half circle is the handle!!!  This cup was really easy and fun to make.  I am going to make some more - this is the perfect gift around the holidays - I can't wait to fill them up with Hot Cocoa mix and marshmallows or a Starbucks gift certificate!

Inspired by.... Nature

Today I have a sweet little card I want to share with you.  I made it for the CS Designs color challenge on Simply Scrapping Crafts.

Color Challenge Inspired by Nature

This week CS Designs is releasing two new Blossom Designs, so this weeks challenge is inspired by Nature.

We have chosen 3 natural colors often seen in the forest.

You can use any shade of these colors to create your entry and even include a hint of other colors as long as the main dominant colors are the ones for this challenge.

Your entry must also be some sort paper craft project.

I adore these new Blossom Designs from CS Designs!!! Please take a look at the available designs HERE.

I wanted to make her hair stand out, so I colored it in twice, cut out the second one, bent the edges and pieced it on the first design.  I also dry embossed the bottom of the card and I sponged ink over it to make it stand out more.  I added glossy accents to the flowers and Stickles to her buttons.

A few CS Designs Projects!

Just a quick little pop in!

I wanted to share my two latest CS Designs creations with you! The first one is a cute card I made with my friend in mind.  She actually has a tattoo that reminds me of the design.  She has always loved celestial things, so this card is perfect for her!

I used some core'dinations cardstock and dry embossed the background.  Then I used my Tim Holtz sander and sanded it down so the yellow showed through.

I colored in the image with Copics and then I used some Stickles to make the moon shiny and happy.  Oooo! And I used my sewing machine! Can you see the stitches?! They are around the moon AND on the ribbon below.  Yeah, I know - I'm getting SO fancy!!!

Onto the next project:

This one is a gift card holder I made for this week's Simply Scrapping Crafts Color Combo Challenge.  I apologize for the lighting.  It's been pretty dreary here in Chicago recently.  The few days that have been sunny have been days that I haven't been able to take pictures - go figure!

I sewed again on this one! Click the picture to enlarge it if you need to.  I sewed around the edges.  The image was die cut with a Spellbinders die and my Cuttlebug.  I punched a pull-hole at the top so the gift card is easily accessible.  It is sitting inside on a piece of matching cardstock.  I've really been into making gift card holders recently.  You are going to see another one shortly in a few days.

A Few Announcements and an Easter Parade!

I have a few announcements to make today.  The first one is SO exciting! I have been chosen to be on the SP & Company Design Team! I am so excited about this, I am just bursting!!! I really, really love the designs and I am still on Cloud 9 that I was picked to be on the team! Someone pinch me!!!!!

My other announcement is a bittersweet one.  Roxanne has decided start up a different blog on her own.  I will be the sole blogger on Harvest Moon now... As much as I will miss being blogging partners in crime, it is for the best.  With both of us on separate design teams, it just became too difficult to share a blog.  Please make sure you check out and become a Follower on her new blog: Project Organized Chaos! That is just such a great name!!! And... look for Roxanne to be a guest blogger here in the future!

Today I used some more Babushkas from CS Designs.  If you haven't participated in the Easter Egg Hunt or Parade yet, check out the details here.  There are some fun prizes to be won!!!!

I used watercolor pencils to color in the little girls and then placed them on some Kaiser Craft paper flowers.  Being that this is for the CS Designs Easter Parade, I wanted this to be very Spring-y!  I used a Papertrey Ink die for the scallops at the bottom of the card.

CS Designs Project TWO!

Now here is my second project for the CS Designs Big Extravaganza Contest!   To see the first project I made, click HERE!


For my second project, I wanted to make a card.  Using Lulu again (she's just too cute NOT to use her more than once), I created a card using my Copics.  Now, I don't have nearly as many as I'd like, so I usually have to just make-do with what I have.  Lots of times, I just give up and use colored pencils or watercolor pencils so I can get the exact color I'm looking for.  But this time, I had everything I needed.

I used some fun K& Company papers I just bought and black cardstock for the background.  After I colored Lulu in, I carefully measured out 1 inch squares, cut her apart, and then pieced her back together, leaving just a little space inbetween each image for a tiled effect.  Fun, no?

I was kind of scared to "Go Green" on her skin, but she's whimsical and obviously not human (unless there is someone out there that has wings?!), so I figured why not?! I actually really like the way she came out.  I had to give her red hair to go with that green skin!!!

CS Designs Contest!!!

I'm participating in the CS Designs Big Extravaganza Contest! Woo hoo!!! Chris Sterns is a fantastic artist and creates the most amazing digital art.  I was provided with Lulu and 4 sentiments for free, just for playing along.  I created two different pieces.  I'll share my first piece in this post - my second one will follow in a separate post.

First up:

I really wanted to re-purpose a mini candy box I've been holding on to.  It's the perfect size for a gift card - I was just watiting for the right project to come along.  Once I saw Lulu, I knew exactly what to do!!!

I first covered the candy box in some fun paper I've been waiting to use.  Then, I printed Lulu out, used some Spellbinders to die cut her out and colored her in with Prismacolor colored pencils.  I added some rhinestones to the background, inked it up and paper pieced her wings.  I also added Glossy Accents to them.  I really wanted to use glitter, but I decided to go with the glossy accents instead.  I also printed out the "Thinking of You" sentiment, punched it, and made the the center for the red flower in the upper corner.  I used a Making Memories tag frame and another flower for some fun accents.

Above is the box, opened, waiting for a gift card!!!  I really tried to push myself on this one with colors.  I love the combo of pink, red, teal and brown together, but I don't use it too often, so I forced myself to use it this time.

My Sweet Little Babushkas!

Hi all!!!
So, how much fun is this?! Babushkas for Easter from CS Designs! Here's a little fun fact: my mother-in-law is from Poland, so these designs are near and dear to my heart.  When I was playing with these, I knew the projects I made would be going straight to her!

Since we are hopping around, helping the Easter Bunny, I knew I had to make a basket! This will be my baby's second Easter and I'm hoping this year she will understand it a little better than last year (she didn't really get it then)! So, I made my own basket out of K and Company paper and embellished it with some Stickles, rhinestones, ribbon, and of course BABUSHKAS!

I think I'm going to make little mini baskets for my son, daughter, and maybe a few other lucky family members for Easter this year.  It was easy and fun to do! Just make 9 equal squares on a sheet of paper.  I used 2 sided paper so both sides looked good.  Score all the squares, and cut up to the center square on the top and bottom.  Fold, and hold together with a brad! Easy peasy!  Here is a close up:

After working with these fantastic images, I knew I wasn't done yet! What would a basket be without a matching gift tag??!!!

I used the same papers and elements as the basket, but I added a die cut flower I made and I added a little beauty mark on her face, a la Marilyn Monroe. I just couldn't resist! I have to say it was quite a challenge to take these pictures - my daughter kept stealing the plastic eggs that were supposed to be my props in the pictures! My silly little girl!!!
