CS Designs Project TWO!

Now here is my second project for the CS Designs Big Extravaganza Contest!   To see the first project I made, click HERE!

For my second project, I wanted to make a card.  Using Lulu again (she's just too cute NOT to use her more than once), I created a card using my Copics.  Now, I don't have nearly as many as I'd like, so I usually have to just make-do with what I have.  Lots of times, I just give up and use colored pencils or watercolor pencils so I can get the exact color I'm looking for.  But this time, I had everything I needed.

I used some fun K& Company papers I just bought and black cardstock for the background.  After I colored Lulu in, I carefully measured out 1 inch squares, cut her apart, and then pieced her back together, leaving just a little space inbetween each image for a tiled effect.  Fun, no?

I was kind of scared to "Go Green" on her skin, but she's whimsical and obviously not human (unless there is someone out there that has wings?!), so I figured why not?! I actually really like the way she came out.  I had to give her red hair to go with that green skin!!!

Thanks for stopping by and make sure you check out the CS Designs Blog - you won't be disappointed!!!

A Few More Projects!

I've been working on random cards and projects the last few weeks and I wanted to share them with you!

This is a card I made for my mom to thank her for everything she does.  I gave it to her with a sparkly black pumpkin she had been eyeing at the store.  She also loves fall (like me!), so I stuck with a fall themed card.  It literally took me under 10 minutes.

The next card is for my Sister-in-Law's birthday.  She's a big reader, so I figured this was appropriate.  I used Copics to color in the twine and flowers so everything matched.  I did a little heat embossing on the Kraft cardstock, too.

This next one is for my Mother-in-Law's birthday (I know, my poor husband - both of their birthdays and MINE, plus our wedding anniversary ALL in October).  I used my Copics to color in the flowers.  I really like how this one came out.  This was one of those cards that I started and then I didn't know what to do with it.  The Mojo had to kick in first!  :)

And lastly, here is an altered mint tin I made with (surprise!!!) Christmas tags inside.  This is going to be a St. Nicholas Day gift.  I think I'm going to add some more tags to it, though, but label tags, not hanging tags! I'm running out of room inside and the labels will take up less space.

Thanks for looking! I hope one of these projects gave you a little bit of inspiration!

Papertrey Ink August Blog Hop

This is PTI Blog Hop Number TWO for me!!! Woo hoo!!! It was so much fun last month!!! I loved going on all of the blogs and looking at all of the creativity out there.  I just couldn't resist doing it again.  I attended the CHA last month and I beefed up my PTI stamp collection, so I had more design options to work with this time around.  I decided I wanted to do something a little more creative than just a paper bag, so I made a gift card holder FIRST, then a gift bag second.

Here is the gift card holder:

I made the propellers pop up to make it a little more fun! This stamp set (Fly Away Mini) just screams for bright colors, so I had to use reds and blues.  I used my Copics to color everything in.

For the bag, which is the accent to the gift card holder, I also used Copics and some VersaMark in the background for the smaller stars.  I die cut a circle and placed some acetate behind it.  Then, I stamped the "Happy Birthday" sentiment in Staz-On at the top of the acetate.  I used my Crop A Dile to put some gromets into place and then I threaded some twine through both sides to keep the bag shut.  Since I didn't have a gift to put in it yet, I threw in some birthday tissue paper.

Here are the two finished pieces together:

Thanks for looking and I'll be on all of the blogs shortly!!!!
