Well, I was trying to get a Mojo Monday Challenge done every single week, but I've missed the last few. This week's challenge really grabbed me, though. I've never made a circle card before, so I decided to give it a shot. I really liked the results. It's not often people receive circular cards and my mom will love this one. I made it with her birthday in mind since it is next week.
This week's sketch:
I knew I wanted to use Kraft as my background and I decided to use my PTI woodgrain stamp to give it a little somethin'-somethin'!!!
I also die cut the flower shape out of foam and adhered it to patterned paper to give the whole thing more dimension. I love pop dots, but this gives it much more thickness all the way through. I used PTI stamps for the tulips (LOVE THEM!) and the sentiment. I opted not to have the ribbon run from top to bottom. Since I used the ribbon as the 'leaf' or in place of the rectangle towards the top, it was just too much. And no matter what I did, I just didn't like it, so I went with my normal "less is more" approach and just left it alone. :)
Here is the final card:
The flower die and edge die at the top are PTI. I made the actual card using a Quickutz die I had. I had fun experimenting with this one. I know I'm going to be making more circular cards in the future. If I would have known how easy it was, I would have made tons of them already!!! Thanks for stopping by the little blog-o-lee-o and I'd love to hear your feedback!!!

Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 176
Well, we've all crawled out from under the snow here in Chicago! It was crazy yesterday. I don't think anyone made it into work anywhere. Since I was home, I had a little bit of time to work on a card. I'm really loving the Mojo Monday Blog! I love the sketch challenges and the inspiration that comes along with it! Here is this week's sketch challenge:
I ended up doing the square design, only because I wanted to use banners and I thought they would look better on the square instead of the circle. I do LOVE circle cards, so I'm hoping to use this in the future for something. I also decided to be a little different and I flipped the sketch upside down.
I used papers from My Mind's Eye and Kraft cardstock. I also heat embossed all of the letters on the card to make them pop.
I used Papertrey Ink's Banner Builder Stamp Set for the banner and Fancy Flourishes for the background. This is a clean and simple one that I really had fun making. This was a color combo I haven't tried before!!!
Thanks for looking!

Mojo Monday #175
I'm back!!! This week I'm doing the Mojo Monday Challenge for the first time. I came upon this blog unexpectly and I just love it! Mojo Monday is part of Verve Stamps, which I also discovered recently. Their stamp designs are just flat out awesome and their Design Team is amazing!!! :-) So, here is the sketch challenge for this week:
I decided to go with some bright colors to temporarily get away from the gloom and doom of winter! I thought that some bright orange and blue would help keep the cold away.
I used some cute, summery Hero Arts birds that I cut out separately and pieced back onto the image I stamped. I colored in the branch and leaves with watercolor pencils.
I added a flower up at the top instead of a bow... I just wanted to keep with the whole leaves/floral theme. A bow just didn't seem to fit.
Here is the finished card:
Thanks for looking and I'd love to hear feedback on this one!
