Hi! Have you played along yet with the Crafter's Companion Monthly Challenge? The theme this month is CAS (Clean and Simple), which is one of my favorites!

The circular sentiment is from Sentimentals Imagine and the little butterfly is from Mulberry Woods Relax.  He was colored in using Spectrum Noir Makers (CT1, CT4, IG1).

I used Distress Inks (Chipped Sapphire, Dusty Concord, Milled Lavender) to create the subtle ombre effect on the die cut piece.

Mulberry Woods - Friends

Hi! I hope you had a great weekend! Today I have a cute card using a new set from the Mulberry Woods line.  It will be released within the next few weeks!  The image I used is from the Friends set.

I went out of my comfort zone with this one.  I used colors that I normally stray away from and I used my new hexagon dies, too.

The dog was colored in using Spectrum Noir markers.  I so rarely use pinks, so I really felt out of my element, here! But I love the pink along with that teal color.  And the image is just so incredibly cute.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

A Window Wheel Card!

Hi! How was your weekend? I hope you got crafty! I made a really awesome card that I'm going to share with you today.  I'm calling it a Window Wheel Card since I'm not sure what else to call it! I really love the way the finished card came out, mainly because of the newest Mulberry Wood set that I used on it.

The card was actually pretty easy to make! I chose to make the wheel scalloped to give it a little something extra.

I created the card with an extra fold on the right side and punched a hole for the wheel.  I die cut the window.  The above picture is the inside view, before it was all adhered together.  The finished card is 4.25 x 4.25 and flat is is 4.25 x 11.  It was scored at 4.25 and 8.5.

This is the outside view:

And here is the wheel, after I stamped the sentiments that I chose to use:

I simply held the wheel on with a brad and adhered the card together, making sure I didn't place adhesive anywhere that would hinder that wheel.  The card does not open - the sentiment or message goes on the back of the card, not the inside (since the inside is where the wheel is held!).

And here's the finished card:

You can see the opening for the wheel on the image above. Super fun, huh?

Here is a shot of the wheel in the 'in-between' stage as I was turning it:

I adore the Santa Claus image.  The new Mulberry Wood is darling.  The set will be out this week and each image is better than the next! I used my Spectrum Noir markers to color him in and I adhered him with adhesive foam to the card.  I also added some glitter to Santa for the snow.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Holiday Wishes

Hi there! Today I'm sharing a Christmas card.  I know it's still the summer, but the holidays are just around the corner.  Kind of a scary thought, huh?! :-) I just love the Mulberry Woods sets so much, I really can't stop creating with them.  They are just too, too cute to resist.

I used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color in the image and I added some glossy accents to the lights on his antlers, as well as some glitter glue to parts of the snow.  To balance out the card, I added in those three buttons in the lower left corner and I stamped a sentiment in the upper right.

Here are the markers I used:

This is why Spectrum Noir markers are awesome - I really didn't use that many markers, but I was able to create an entire scene!

And here is a close up of the detail on the card:

See what I'm saying? These images are just sooo cute! Thanks for stopping by today and have a fantastic week!

From Our Family...

I'm back with another Christmas Card this week.  I just can't get enough of the new Mulberry Woods set!!!

These owls are just too cute for words.  I colored them all in with Spectrum Noir markers and I paper pieced in the little owls.  They were adhered with dimensional foam, to give them a little extra pop!

I also used my markers to change the color of the star up at the top.  It was just a plain 'ol star until I pulled out the Spectrum Noirs!!! Now it's a rockin' green star that matches everything else perfectly! Just another reason why I love these markers! :-)

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

Missing You... Christmas in July~

Hi! Today I have a Christmas card for you! Yes, I know it's July, but I couldn't pass up the chance to work on these darling Mulberry Woods sets!!! They JUST came out on July 5 and you don't want to miss out on these images!!!

I created a holiday card using this set and my Spectrum Noir markers.  I made the envelope look like a Kraft envelope using the blender pen and I used deep reds and green to make the card a tad more vintage-y.  This image is from the Merry & Bright set and the sentiment is from Across the Miles.

I love using the Spectrum Noir markers! They are sooo easy to use and they make me look good.  I had a friend tell me she was envious of my coloring skills and I had to tell her that it was the markers, not me!!!

For the banners at the top, I simply cut a strip of holiday-themed paper and I used a square punch to punch out the banner end.  See the picture below? It's easy - just align the end of the strip in the corner of the square and you have a banner!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!!!
